On 11th October 2013, The Tu Ne CBT Project was launched with the actively support of The Au Co Cruises team. Tu Ne, a rural commune of Tan Lac district, Hoa Binh province located in the peaceful countryside with lush fields of rice and sugarcane bordered by Limestone Mountains, is home to a large number of Muong ethnic minority group. The Tu Ne Community Based Eco Tourism (CBT) project is a component of the three – year project of the Centre for Environment and Community Assets Development (CECAD) on the Marginalized and Capacity Building in Tu Ne commune. The aim of this project is to improve the livelihood of the locals in Tu Ne through developing household economies, preserving the Muong culture as well as protecting the environment.Tu Ne tourism infrastructure includes 1 communal house, 4 home stays with total capacity of 24 people. All are equipped with the basic and standard facilities, environment-friendly bathrooms. In Tu Ne, guests can enjoy a wide array of activities; all are environmentally and culturally responsible, experience Muong culture by participating in village life and interact with the authentic Muong people.
